Dear friends,

As the warm and vibrant month of June approaches, we anticipate the summer season with great excitement. Our Jesuit priests and brothers continue to spread their ministry, both within Canada and around the world, bringing hope and inspiration to countless individuals.

With Father’s Day just around the corner, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the words of the Holy Father from his series of talks in 2015 and his Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia in 2016:

"Fathers, like St. Joseph, are called to be faithful, loving, and strong, providing for their families and guiding them in the ways of the Lord."

"Fathers are not born but made. A man does not become a father simply by bringing a child into the world, but by taking responsibility for that child and nurturing him or her with love."

"The vocation of being a father is one of the most important in the world, and it is essential that fathers live up to this calling with courage and love."

"A father's love for his family should be self-giving, sacrificial, and unconditional, mirroring the love of God for us."

"Fathers have a unique and important role to play in the family, and it is essential that they embrace this role with humility, courage, and love."

I have been blessed with an extraordinary father whose love and guidance have enriched my life immeasurably. Let us all express our gratitude for the presence of exemplary fathers in our lives and extend our prayers to those fathers who may be in need of support and encouragement on their journey of fatherhood.

The Jesuit priests and brothers thank you for your continued support and prayers and wish you a Happy Father’s Day.

Respectfully yours in Christ,

Scott McMaster – Director of Advancement
