Wine and Cheese in Montreal in Support of Education, Spirituality and Social Justice

September 19, 2019 — On October 22, under the honorary chairmanship of Mr. Louis Audet, the Jesuits of Canada will hold their third annual Soirée Vins et fromages (Wine and Cheese Evening) in support of their educational, spiritual, environmental and social justice works. The event will take place at the Grande Chapelle of Collège Brébeuf. This friendly evening, part of a new series of benefit events entitled “Sacrées Belles Soirées” (Great Evenings), will enable you to learn more about these works while enjoying the culinary delights of Chef Danny St-Pierre.

Do you know anyone who might be interested in this event? We need to reach people who have the means and desire to help the Jesuits in their mission of love and reconciliation. Please share the information with them!

Looking Towards the Future

What will the funds raised at this event be used for? The Jesuit missions in Canada are manifold and affect education, spirituality, the environment and social justice all across Canada.

All over the world, the works of the Society, including those here in Canada, are presently renewing themselves under the new Universal Apostolic Preferences. In fact, the Society of Jesus has defined its four Universal Apostolic Preferences for the next 10 years through community discernment, listening and reflection in 120 countries:

    • To show the way to God: suggest a type of discernment so that each human being can find his/her unique path;
    • To walk with the poor, the outcasts of the world, those who are left behind;
    • To accompany young people in the creation of a hope-filled future;
    • To collaborate in the care of our Common Home: together, respect the environment.

Moreover, the various actors and different national and international solidarity projects in which the Society’s works are involved reflect a rich, humanist tradition. Come and meet these special individuals and learn more about the works of the Jesuits.

Reserve your tickets here online or share the event with your friends and colleagues.
