MEN IGNATIAN – Jesus’ encounter with the sick, the Pharisees, sinners, and all other sorts of people is critical for the process of personal conversion and transformation. The disciples who followed the Messiah had encountered him and were transformed by his words and his deeds. They were able to respond to the call: “come, follow me” (Matt. 4:19), because they first met him and opened their hearts to receive his words. Saint Paul had the same experience on the road to Damascus when the Risen Christ asked him: “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” (Acts 9:4).

During 3 days of retreat, we will focus on the Ignatian method of contemplation that suggests the use of our senses (SE 106), to contemplate together some of the significant moments of Jesus’ encounter with His audience and the healing and transformative process that followed as a result of these encounters. Fundamental to this, is the role of the Holy Spirit that allows people to open their hearts to the Divine Grace which transforms, restores and re-creates.
