September 25 @ 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
Before the frosts of autumn, the farm outdoes itself in generosity, filling our larders with shapes and tastes of many kinds. Squash, carrots, beets, cabbage, kale, celeriac, potatoes…the harvest pours in, but not without the work of human hands.
In this single-day retreat, over the course of nine hours, you’ll grow in increasing intimacy with the fruits of the Earth. In the morning, you’ll join the Ignatius Farm Team out in the fields, lifting living food from the soil. In the afternoon, workshops on seeds—their miracle and their saving—and cooking will give you deeper knowledge of what you eat. You’ll then practice what you’ve learned, preparing with others the supper you’ll all enjoy together. Finally, with feasting, you’ll become one with the food you’ve gotten to know throughout the day, closing the circle of gratitude. Experience the peace, creativity, generosity and synergy of Ignatius Farm and Loyola House from start to delicious finish.
