Dear Friends of the Jesuits,

I am delighted to invite you to join us for the 12th Annual Scotch Nosing & Dinner on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at The Albany Club in Toronto.

For many guests, this evening has become a cherished autumn tradition—an opportunity to gather with friends of the Jesuits, enjoy exceptional Scotch and fine dining, and celebrate the mission and ministry of the Jesuits of Canada. It is also one of our most important annual fundraising events, bringing together friends whose generosity helps ensure that the Jesuit mission continues to flourish for generations to come. Seating is limited, and the event has sold out in previous years.

This year’s tasting will take guests on a journey across Scotland’s renowned whisky regions through six exceptional single malts, each selected to showcase the remarkable diversity of Scotch whisky. Beginning in the Lowlands with the fresh, grassy notes of Glenkinchie 12-Year-Old, we travel to the Highlands to experience the gentle, honeyed character of Dalwhinnie 15-Year-Old, before exploring the elegance and complexity of Cragganmore 12-Year-Old from Speyside.

From there, the journey moves west to the coastal richness of Oban 14-Year-Old, whose balance of fruit, sea salt, and gentle smoke has made it a favourite among whisky enthusiasts. We then cross to the Isle of Skye to discover the bold maritime character and peppery spice of Talisker 10 Year Old, before concluding on the Isle of Islay with the legendary Lagavulin 16-Year-Old—one of Scotland’s most celebrated peated whiskies, renowned for its rich, smoky finish.

Throughout the evening, knowledgeable Scotch enthusiasts will guide guests through each tasting, sharing the history, traditions, and distinctive characteristics that make every whisky unique. Paired with an outstanding dinner and the warm fellowship of friends of the Jesuits, the evening promises to be both enjoyable and memorable.

I am especially pleased that Fr. Jeffrey S. Burwell, SJ, Provincial of the Jesuits of Canada, will join us for the evening. Fr. Burwell will reflect on the work of the Jesuits across Canada and the many ways your generosity makes that work possible. Every gift entrusted to the Jesuits is an investment in people and in mission—forming future Jesuits, accompanying those on the margins, caring for our senior Jesuits who have devoted their lives to service, and strengthening ministries that invite people to encounter God, deepen their faith, pursue justice, and care for our common home.
