Cooking for Cold Days
By multiple, minor miracles we in Canada can eat in the dead of winter, even as nothing grows around us for months on end.
As first in a series of single day retreats rooted in food, this event will begin with acknowledging our gratitude for the many systems of production, transportation and storage that keep us fed through the frozen times. We’ll then explore how we might adjust our culinary tastes and ways to a more local diet, despite the challenges of Canadian climate.
Ingredients of the day will include: quiet reflection; group discussion; mindful, joyful eating of lunch;  a cooking class; a sprout-growing workshop; participative preparation of supper and its celebratory enjoyment.  Become a part of Loyola House’s renowned kitchen for a day!
