Long-time supporters and partners of the law firm Blakeney, Henneberry, Murphy and Rance, Ruth and Bill have supported the Jesuits for many years, with legal counsel, Indigenous relations, and with fundraising events. Jesuit Provincial Father Erik Oland and Jesuit Father Michael Rosinski spoke of their dedication to the Jesuits’ mission.

Fifty-year Jesuit Jubilarian Father Michel Boutilier has been a committed educator for most of his Jesuit life, teaching in Jesuit schools in Winnipeg, Montreal, and St. John’s. Father has left an enduring mark on the students he has taught. He currently serves as chaplain at St. Paul’s High School in Winnipeg.

This year the dinner attracted more than 350 guests, including many from outside the Greater Toronto Area. Many guests bid farewell to current Provincial of the Jesuits of Canada, Fr. Oland, and welcomed the next Provincial, Fr. Jeffrey Burwell, who will assume his new responsibilities on July 31, 2024, the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The annual fundraising dinner helps raise funds for men in formation, acknowledges Jesuits celebrating 50 years in the Society, and presents the Magis award to noteworthy recipients.
