June’s prayer intention by Pope Francis: The Priests’ Way of Life

In his prayer intention for the month of June 2019, Pope Francis calls us to pray that priests, “through the modesty and humility of their lives, commit themselves actively, above all, to solidarity with those who are most poor.” It has become the custom of Pope Francis to release a video message detailing his prayer intention for each month. Pope Francis’ Pilgrimage to Romania

Pope Francis just completed a trip to Romania, a pilgrimage which, he said, was a “symbol of dialogue, unity and brotherhood.” Amongst other things, he recited the Our Father with the Patriarch of All Romania and asked forgiveness to the Roma communities for the discrimination they experienced over the course of history. The CATHII, a Partner in the Fight Against Sexual Exploitation at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Each year during the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal, the Un trop grand prix (Too great a price) committee launches a campaign of prevention against sexual exploitation of young women. The Jesuits of Canada are part of CATHII, a partner in this campaign, in addition to writing regularly about human trafficking, such as here and here. Pope Francis Celebrates World Communications Day

Under the theme “We are members one of another (Eph 4,25). From network community to human communities,” the Pope celebrated World Communications Day. Among other ideas, he made a call to reflect more upon the personal and communal dimensions of communication:

From an anthropological standpoint, the metaphor of the network also recalls another significant figure: that of community. A community is made stronger if it is cohesive and united, inspired by feelings of trust and the pursuit of shared goals. The community as a support network requires mutual listening and dialogue, based upon the responsible use of language. For more, click here.
