December 14, 2018 — The territory of Haiti has just published a new edition of its magazine LE REGARD. The publication takes place in a context of high political and social turbulence.
“Society in all its components has been deeply shaken. The very foundations of living together are undermined to the last resort”, writes Father Jean Denis Saint Felix, SJ, superior of the Jesuits in Haïti.
“The evil went to live in the confines of the cultural and the anthropological. The values of a just, humane and democratic society are routed. Yet we do not have the right to be mere spectators. It is at the very heart of this society – as it is – that we are called to bear witness to the risen Christ, our companion, to defend life, embracing in faith and hope and radically our mission of justice. and reconciliation. Dare to hope that our various places of commitment such as: education, incidence and advocacy, spirituality and the parish are more and more adapted to the reality of the hour and can respond effectively to the great challenges of our time and of our society.”
