News Story

March 20, 2024

The Board of Directors of Centre Justice et Foi has made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend the Centre’s activities. This measure has become necessary to allow the Centre to redefine its positioning and priorities, based on its human and limited financial resources and in the context of its mission.

Effective tomorrow, March 22, 2024, operations will be paused until further notice. While the exact duration of this hiatus remains undetermined, the Centre’s board is hopeful that they will be in a position to resume its activities before the end of summer.

This decision aims to ensure the sustainability of the Centre’s vital mission, rooted in its core values of justice and solidarity. The board understands the challenges this transition presents and has been committed to facilitating a smooth process for the Centre’s employees.

We understand that such transitions can lead to feelings of uncertainty. Over the last few years, the Centre’s leadership has shared with its community updates on its financial situation. This strategic pause is seen as a necessary step for redefinition of its positioning and priorities, signifying a period of thoughtful pause, discernment, and planning for a sustainable future.

The Jesuits and the leaders of Centre Justice et Foi remain confident and committed to the future of the Centre, with plans to emerge from this pause stronger.
