March 15 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
A One-Day Retreat
This one-day program offers space and time to deepen our spiritual lives in this season of Lent. What do I desire as I continue my journey through this season of grace? What does it mean for me to return to the Lord with my entire being, to listen carefully to the sounds that speak to me in solitude?
The day will rely on the spiritual wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola and make use of the reflections of Kim Haines-Eitzen in her book Sonorous Desert – What Deep Listening Taught Early Christian Monks, and What It Can Teach Us.
The day consists of presentations, time for personal reflection, interaction with other participants, the celebration of Mass, lunch and snacks. Fr. Philip Shano, SJ will facilitate the day.
Philip Shano has been a Jesuit for over 45 years and recently returned to serve at Loyola House, having previously been on the spiritual direction team in the 1990s. Most of his diverse Jesuit ministry has involved retreat, education and formation work rooted in Ignatian spirituality.
