Event

To contribute to the enactment of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, the ISCM, working with the Jesuit Forum for Social Faith and Justice and Indigenous knowledge keepers, offers a three-day retreat.

Based on a model of spiritual conversations, retreatants will explore the diverse Indigenous cultures of this land, unlearn stereotypes and misconceptions, explore the history of colonization that has marked relationships between Settlers and Indigenous Peoples, and seek ways to address that painful legacy by seeking concrete pathways towards right relationships, decolonization, and re-indigenization.

Periods of silent reflection, group and land-based activities, talks, and multi-media presentations will round out the three days of listening and sharing together in a circle. This retreat is guided by a group, with some possible individual direction.

Facilitated by the Jesuit Forum and Centre justice et foi teams as well as Indigenous knowledge carriers.
