Each month, we highlight an individual, family, or group who has committed to keeping the Jesuits in prayer. It’s our way of recognizing and celebrating the amazing people who stand with us in faith.
This month, we’re excited to recognize Graham and Lisa as well as their two children Adaline and Elijah from Regina, Saskatchewan. Your prayers and support mean the world to us. Thank you for being part of this mission and keeping us in your hearts and prayers. We are so grateful for you!
Graham first encountered the Jesuits and Fr. Jeffrey S. Burwell, SJ through a mutual friend. Lisa and the children later met him and other Jesuits at St. Mary’s Parish where Fr. Burwell served as the associate pastor for several years. Over time, the family developed deeper connections with the Society of Jesus in various ways. Graham (a plumber by trade) volunteered in 2021 to rebuild the outdated plumbing system at Camp Monahan: An 80-year-old Catholic institution with ties to the Jesuits. Their commitment to the Society extends beyond their personal friendships; they remain steadfast supporters by warmly welcoming new Jesuits as the community in Regina evolves. Each year, Jesuits across the Province look forward to receiving the family’s Christmas card — their heartfelt messages of encouragement are so appreciated.
The family’s care for the Jesuits is not only expressed in word and deed but also in prayer. We are grateful that they have committed to remembering the Jesuits weekly during a family Rosary where they gather to remember the mysteries. Additionally, the children always include Fr. Burwell and the Jesuits in their nightly prayers. In a further sign of their dedication, they have pledged to light a candle once a month at church for an increase in Jesuit vocations. With every passing year, prayer strengthens their bond with the Society of Jesus. Graham, Lisa, and their two children live out their dedication to the Jesuit mission in all they do. We are truly blessed by their ongoing support.
