It’s brewing at the Gesù!

The return of autumn is in full swing at the Gesù. It’s hot but very colourful.

Celebrating Montreal’s Churches

On Sept. 7, the Gesù was the site of the kick-off for the very first Journées des Églises montréalaises. A joint venture of the organization Passerelles and the Québec Council for Religious Patrimony, these days gave tourists and Montréal citizens alike the opportunity to discover or rediscover 27 exceptional churches in the metropolitan area, including of course the brilliant jewel that is the Gesù.

On Sept. 19, the Gesù was humming with the rhythms of classical sounds and experimental creations by a trio “of Canadian experimental artists who push the boundaries: Kara-Lis Coverdale, Alex Zhang Hungtai and Sarah Davchi”, entitled Triptique. This unusual concert highlighted the Gesù’s Casavant/Guilbault-Thérien organ, inviting music lovers to a unique acoustic and musical experience as part of the Red Bull Music Festival Montréal.

The event caught the attention of Le Devoir which featured it on its front page on September 19, 2018.
