September 2024

Dear Friends,

As we transition from the warm days of July and August into the new season of September, I want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to you, our cherished donors. Your prayers and generosity are the lifeblood of our mission at the Jesuit Office of Advancement, enabling our beloved Jesuits to continue to walk with others in their vital ministries both here in Canada and around the world, especially during these challenging times.

September often brings a sense of renewed busyness as schools reopen and our calendars fill up. Amidst this, we are deeply thankful for your ongoing support, which ensures that the work of the Jesuits continues to be fruitful. We are privileged to call you friends, and we treasure the partnership we share.

We understand that life’s demands sometimes make it difficult to find time for involvement in our events. That is why we want to give you plenty of notice about some special occasions coming up, and we warmly invite you to consider participating:

  1. 10th Annual Scotch Nosing Fundraising Event: Join us on November 6, 2024, at The Albany Club in Toronto. The evening will include five spectacular scotches and their individual stories, a wonderful meal, and terrific community. This popular event sells out quickly, so please contact us at 416-481-9154 or supportus@jesuits.ca to secure your tickets and learn about sponsorship opportunities.
  2. Jesuit Provincial’s Dinner 2025: Mark your calendars for April 30, 2025, at Bellevue Manor. This evening will be a joyous celebration of our Jubilarians, featuring the presentation of our Magis Award, and will include an on-site Mass. We look forward to celebrating with you
  3. November: Month of the Holy Souls: As the Church calls us to remember and pray for our departed loved ones, we invite you to make a donation in their memory. The names of those you wish to remember will be placed in a basket at the altar of the René Goupil Chapel, within the Jesuit infirmary in Pickering. The Jesuits will include them in their daily prayers during the Eucharist, carrying their memory with deep love and reverence.

We are truly blessed to have benefactors like you. Every day, we are inspired by the incredible people we meet and speak with—friends who make our ministry meaningful and fulfilling. Your prayers and generous gifts are acts of love that ripple through our communities, bringing hope and transformation. Please know that the Jesuit priests and brothers pray for you daily, holding you in their hearts with deep gratitude.

Let us continue to walk together in this mission as we seek to make a difference in the world.

Respectfully yours in Christ,

Scott McMaster
Director of Advancement
