Dear Friends,
As we draw closer to the joy-filled celebration of Christmas, I am reminded of the words of Pope Francis: “Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace.” These words illuminate the true spirit of the season, a time to draw closer to Christ, who brings light to our hearts and peace to the world.
In a world that often faces uncertainties, Advent encourages us to pause and rediscover the quiet joy of God’s presence, as St. Ignatius of Loyola beautifully encourages us to “find God in all things.” Together, we can share this divine light with one another, especially through acts of kindness, care, compassion and solidarity.
As part of our cherished tradition, the Jesuits of Canada are delighted to share a new Christmas card with you. These cards, born of our prayers for peace and justice, are a small way of sharing the hope of the season with your loved ones. During this season of giving, we are also moved to reflect on how we can best support one another in our shared mission.
