September 12, 2015 — Fr. Roland Turenne is now 92 years old. His 64 years in Ethiopia include much more than his year of staring down famine in 1984. Being there to serve the country and people to whom he has given three quarters of his life is the perfect example of what a missionary is for.

August 27, 2015 - Canadian Jesuit Father David Nazar, SJ, has been named rector of the Pontifical Oriental Institute, the premier centre for the study of Eastern Christianity in Rome, Italy. Fr. Nazar is currently serving as superior of the Jesuits in Ukraine and is a former provincial superior of the Jesuits in English Canada Province.

Father Michael Stogre died unexpectedly on June 24, 2015, at the Jesuit house in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was in his 71st year of life, four days short of his birthday, and in religious life for 52 years. Michael Joseph Stogre was born in Prince Edward Island on June 28, 1944.
June 23, 2015 - On April 25, 2015 a massive earthquake struck Nepal. It registered a catastrophic 8.1 surface wave magnitude and killed more than 8,800 people while injuring more than 23,000. Amidst the destruction and chaos, the local Jesuit community is helping the Nepali people rebuild.

"Father Van," Jesuit missionary who ministered in Darjeeling, India, died on June 1, 2015 at the age of 88. He was a Jesuit for 70 years. Given his talents, Fr. Van filled many posts in virtually every part of the Darjeeling Mission.
May 23, 2015 - With great joy and gratitude in God’s grace, Jesuit Gregory Kennedy was ordained to the priesthood on May 23, and his fellow Jesuits, Matthew Charlesworth, Jean-Robert Déry, Paul Robson, and Emmanuel Saint-Hilaire, to the diaconate, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Toronto.
