July 24, 2017 — A group of Indigenous Peoples, non-Jesuits and Jesuits embarked on a 850-kilometre canoe pilgrimage from Midland, Ontario, on July 21, in response to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Father William German, SJ died after a short illness on July 4, 2017 in Pickering. Fr. German was 92 years old and had been a religious for 73 years. Fr. German’s sense of humour, friendliness, and open personality brought a humanity to those he encountered.
